Automobiles are 15% efficient, the performance of the standard auto engine is only 15% of the energy put into them, in other words 85% of a tank of gas goes unused...turbines are 30% efficient...jet propulsion engines are 65% efficient and the fuel cells developed by NASA are 85% efficient...the overall efficiency of the 1st world is only 5% meaning that the 95% waste is "PROFIT"...and what is profit?...profit is wealth and wealth is "energy x intelligence" or, in more relevant terms, "the manipulation of energy by intelligence". Energy cannot be created or destroyed, that's fundamental. The amount of wealth or life support obtained from a given amount of energy is directly proportionate to intelligence....stay tuned for updated truths.
Direct injection and modern tech has bumped that up to 30-40% thermodynamic efficiency. F1 engines reach 50% because they have a sophisticated combustion engine and turbo with the latest materials technology. And 2 electric motors that communicate with each other.
I meant to state that these stats are from my learnings in the 80s...obviously efficiency ratings have improved but not to the degree where the consumer financially benefits immensely, wasted energy is still profit. My main point was that wealth is energy x intelligence...the 3rd world is sloppy with it's energy, and it's very low IQ . Here in the 1st World energy is used to manipulate and we don't even get 80% of it's efficiency.
and because they're moving so fast with optimized aerodynamics, they can force tons of high pressure, cold air into them. not something that is common in daily drivers. I didn't watch this but i imagine that this was overlooked.
They'll probably figure out lots of cool stuff, just in time for communists to illegalize internal combustion for everyone [except themselves, of course].
Improvements in engine efficiency come from the combustion engine. Higher compression ratios, leaner burning by using pre-chamber ignition, and improvements in materials and surface finish.
