I have a theory about why females tend to be slovenly (no offense to girl-goats) and it is because they are genetically wired that way. Their gene for grottiness is a survival mechanism to help them cope with child rearing (nappies); house-cleaning etc. They become inured to messiness and can sit there surrounded by unwashed dishes, soggy nappies on the floor, unemptied ashtrays. The male doesn't have this gene (coping mechanism) and it is by design to force him to leave the messy, smelly cave and go hunting.
