Head Of Chase Bank Warns Customers: Era Of Free Checking Is Likely Over

The 'problem-solving' elites in Washington, DC, who advocate interventionist policies and overregulate the economy into oblivion, often cause unintended consequences. The latest example comes from the head of America's largest retail bank, which has a warning for its 86 million customers: The era of free checking is likely over.

Marianne Lake, head of Chase Bank, a division of JPMorgan Chase, was quoted by The Wall Street Journal as saying the bank is preparing to charge customers for now-free services, including checking accounts and wealth-management tools, if new rules pushed by politicians in Washington are enacted. These rules include capping overdrafts and late fees.

"The changes will be broad, sweeping, and significant," Lake said, adding, "The people who will be most impacted are the ones who can least afford to be, and access to credit will be harder to get."

This is an effort to FORCE the Digital ID, and Digital Currency System upon people.

They will make checking unaffordable, and so expensive that people will have to switch and be tracked-controlled.

The exact same thing was done with physical land line telephone customers. The made it insane to NOT cut the cord in your home.

I only have a land line. It’s 14 dollars a month. Cheaper than buying a cell, both monetarily and mental health wise.

With VoIP providers you can get it for $1-$2 a month (e.g. localphone), just need a cheap VoIP box. Outgoing calls cost like 1/2 cent a minute, incoming free.

Is it a copper POTS line, or a VOIP line that comes in over your internet service?

My folks had a copper line, it was almost $80 a month when they cancelled it last year.

Most of those 'land lines' just connect to the cell tower eventually.

You are correct. Just built a home and wanted a land line ....$15,000 to put in the line. Unless you own an older home that still has a landline, you're fucked. Forces you to rely on a cell phone. Plus the monthly was outrageous

ALL of that is specifically to make your entire communications subject to their digital surveillance program(s).

Land Lines require higher legal hurdles to mass harvest, and horde personal communications.
