French stopped collecting race and ethnicity stats a long time ago. For obvious reasons.

But a look at a map of Paris by average income gives some clues. In this illustration, the pink represents higher incomes above the national average and the green represents incomes below the same benchmark.

So Paris has been turned by design into enclaves. They range from some of the nicest in Europe down to low income ethnic ghettos. That's fine if you're a Parisian and know where the fuck to avoid - like a New Yorker or Angeleno will know the bad neighborhoods from the better ones. If you're not a Parisian then you're pretty much fucked if you wander into the wrong place.
