Haha. Yes I do think gambling is a physical addiction. I think it alters your neurology and makes it difficult for you to feel pleasure or happiness unless you are gambling just like drug addictions. My vague understanding is that it alters dopamine “reward” pathways, resulting in depression and anxiety when you are not engaging in the addictive behavior. The “old school” moral taboos against gambling and many other vices had it right. They are bad for your health. Your brain thinks they are the fix for your joyless life— they are the cause.
