Countertop reverse osmosis filters - good/bad?

I have an undersink, APEC ROE-50. Works great. Filters last a long time. Pretty easy install.

Reviews are good. Do you remineralize? Is that an option with that unit?

You can buy inline re-mineralizers with 1/4" quick connects. They're all chinese so you might just be putting poison back in there. I use "Superieur" brand electrolyte mix. If you're drinking RO water with a meal it's not a big deal. If you drink a gallon of it every day without food it would probably fuck you up.

Thanks. Just got the next model up that comes with a remineralizer. I've been putting it off so it's time to just get one and start using it. 75 gallons per day is a pretty crazy number for drinking water at the kitchen sink, but maybe the filters will last based on use.

Better to install under sink. Get one with a high flow like 100.

If you need a countertop one, you probably already have one.

Stainless teapot and boil on stove for 2 minutes. Allow to cool then refrigerate.

They work but are not a good value. Undersink RO filters with a higher flow rate are half the price. These are gadgets for consooomers.

You can start collecting carnivorous plants if you get one of those.
