Walmart Asks Chinese Suppliers To Absorb Tariff Costs     (www.zerohedge.com)

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/walmart-asks-chinese-suppliers-absorb-tariff-costs

Walmart asked Chinese suppliers to lower prices, aiming to absorb the new tariff burden at the supplier level rather than passing it on to consumers. The move is part of its strategy to maintain pricing power amid a value war with other retailers competing for cash-strapped consumers.

Bloomberg reports that the big-box retailer has asked Chinese suppliers, including those producing clothing and kitchenware, to reduce prices by about 10% per round of tariffs, likely shouldering the full cost of President Trump's duties. The report was based on information from people familiar with the matter.

The people said that few suppliers have complied with Walmart's request.

Lower Government Spending Will Not Weaken The US Economy. It Will Strengthen It...     (www.zerohedge.com)

https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/lower-government-spending-will-not-weaken-us-economy-it-will-strengthen-it

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s GDPNow model projection for real GDP growth in the first quarter of 2025 (Q1 2025) is now showing a slump to -1.5%. This marks a significant downward revision from the previous estimate of 2.3% on February 19, 2025.

Such an enormous decline is strange. How did we go from +2.3% to -1.5% in less than a month? That kind of collapse in an economy as large as the United States is exceedingly rare.

its clear that this is not a trump recession, its a FED reserved induced recession to due to high inflation and massive loss of jobs plus the economy is being automated with robots and AI even more.

at some point is quite possible that we'll find 50-60 percent of the population without jobs due to these issues.that's why they are floating the idea of giving free money to ppl in congress. a jobless population spells disaster for the politician. oh and dont expect this to be fixed anytime soon.

Nervousness" Ripples Across Coffee Market As Prices Hit Fresh Record Highs     (www.zerohedge.com)

https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/nervousness-ripples-across-coffee-market-prices-hit-fresh-record-highs

Arabica coffee futures surged to record highs on Friday, fueled by the ongoing global supply crunch. The most-active contract climbed nearly 2% in late morning trading, reaching the highest price levels on record dating back to 1972. The multi-year parabolic move in coffee prices only suggests higher Starbucks and/or supermarket market prices in the months ahead if hedges fail to offset bean inflation.

I enjoyed the account of Scotland as the original Rust Belt and pioneer of deaths of despair. Also the comparison of alcoholism in Scotland with alcoholism in Moscow.

But the video is mostly about the USA, and was made a week before the election. Its observations of an out of touch elite have aged well :-)

I was thinking of why the west could not produce more artillery shells tgan Russia. If you look at nominal GDP numbers https://www.worldometers.info/gdp/gdp-by-country/ it does not make any sense. Obviously GDP is grossly inaccurate, but thinking that I think we need a new GDP measure like Military Power Parity. Basically like PPP but we compare the price of equivalent strong military units and use that to correct nominal GDP numbers. If we use germany as reference this would make the USA actual GDP the same as italy and Russia sonewhere close or above China. With these corrected numbers it is easy to see why we git covid, ukraina, 2030 and all other deep state bullshit, it is simple desperation of the USA

https://retailwire.com/macys-store-closing/#google_vignette

Macy’s has announced that it is closing a total of 55 stores by the end of 2024, in the faltering brand’s ongoing effort to revamp its business.

According to The Daily Mail, the company originally intended to close 50 underperforming stores by the end of the year, part of the 150 total locations it will close within three years. However, it now plans to close 55 before 2025.

The locations of the shuttering stores have not yet been announced, but speculation is abounding that the stores will include a location in Newington, New Hampshire, one in Traverse City, Michigan, and one in WestShore Plaza mall in Tampa, Florida. These stores are reportedly set to close after the winter holidays.
