This came out when I was in high school and blew us away of course. Here are the 3 best ones, but it's all good.

First, by far the best thing Zakk Wylde has ever played:
https://youtu.be/P_cTl052x_o

Next, the best Yngwie song ever. He redid this for a record, but it's not near as good as this version:
https://youtu.be/gRmTqdM_1CM

Finally... this. The Paul Gilbert one. Before this came out, he said in an interview that he sped up the guitar on one part as a joke on all the shredders. The thing is, he's so fucking fast you're wondering the whole time which part is sped up(it's obviously the ending fadeout):

So, I used to play a little guitar when I was younger and when I had to move away for work purposes, I let my "buddy" hold on to my guitar and amp. Well, when I returned a year later, I found out he sold it for some heroin.... So a decade and a half went by, had some kids and bought myself and my daughter(6 at the time) each a guitar. I bought myself a Jackson dinky and bought her a Jackson randy rhodes minion (sweet little guitar). I have never had any lessons and retaught myself some from the youtubes and have actually made some good (in my mind anyway) progress. She is going to start some lessons on this outschool website over zoom(my 11yo son takes bass lessons on it) as I am in no position to teach someone guitar. Ok, sorry for all the useless info above. Now for my issue...

I know this is a shot in the dark, but I recently purchased a used Marshall avt150 amp. This thing sounds absolutely amazing and a huge step up from my old blackstar id10 little practice amp (which sounds great for its size).

Anyway, i come to find out that there is a footswitch available for this amp, but actually finding one is not looking good as this series of amps has been discontinued. So, to my question: do any of you have any idea if there is something that would work with this amp? Like I said, this amp is absolutely incredible, and would love to have a switch to switch betewwn channels. It has acoustic simulator(which sounds beautiful), clean, overdrive1, overdrive2. The oem switch lets you switch between those and also switch the onboard effects on and off. I couldnt findany solid info, just some posts from like 2015 claiming that it could be reverse engineered and some other switches may work with no solid info to follow up on and I dont want to revive a 7 year old thread. I figure maybe someone here knows a thing or two about this. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyway, I do plan on doing some jamming for you guys when I develop the nerve to not be so worried about being laughed at. Music is life, and I play drums, bass, and geetar. My living room looks like a mini studio. And I tell my wife: music=life, living room should be filled with instruments, right?

Take care goats. Thanks for reading this if you've made it this far. Love you faggots.

Hello and welcome to the FNGT! This one is hosted on Talk.lol so that we can actually have it. Poal is currently down due to a server change.

This is a temporary thing, though I only have one objective to moving to Talk.lol - and that's longevity. It's a pain in the ass to change to a new server and I don't want to bounce around and lose people, well more people, who just don't feel like dealing with the hassle.

So, let's make this one something interesting...

This guy goes through a bunch of old tab books and demonstrates how horrid they really are. It's pretty entertaining in hindsight. I bet I still have half a dozen of them in a box somewhere...

I recently heard Billy is looking for a new guitar player, not sure why. Either James' health or their relationship, I suspect.

The time is now! Post your Pumpkins covers!

I'll post one soon. Might not be a complete song, but I know most of a couple of Pumpkins tunes.

I don't like all of Billy's music, but the guy is a tone master. Going through some old tone focused gearpage threads and there are many legends of how Billy believes all these tone "myths" - like how the color of the paint having a big impact on the tone of a guitar. I thought, "He's like me!" because ya, I believe a lot of those tone "myths".

Eric doesn't look so good, makes one wonder if the vaccinations he was forced to take are taking their toll.

This one is for us shredder dorks. "Go Off" was the first I ever heard Jason Becker and Marty Friedman, on a guitar player magazine sound page(those floppy little 45 records inside the magazine). I never would've dreamed I'd see this insanity played live. He even nails Jason's "slow" solo at the end.

Most ppl recognize Steve Vai as a solo performer here he demonstrates his skills as an accompaniment player, while many will remember DLR as Eddie Van Halen's vocalist, which means his association with both players put him right at the top of contemporary music throughout his entire career .. he is also a highly accomplished rock climber, see climbing footage in the David Lee Roth video Just Like Paradise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUBARAhO9EY.

Enjoy.

I am preparing to go lift weights in my home gym which is located in a shed I built about 20 yards away from my house. Its very cold outside today so I will wear my long John top. I don't use heat out there. I do hook up a A\C in the summer though. Its really hard to have a good workout in a 90 degree room. Those new sheets I bought aren't great. They look real nice but the flannel is too thick and gets really hot. I'm expecting a delivery today, hopefully its the regular guy because my place is up in the mountains and kind of hidden. People can never find it and I end up having to go pick my packages up. Its a bit of a drive. I made a good turkey dinner last night, smoked turkey. I had roasted mixed vegetables and nuts as a side along with some nice cranberry bread. I will be having the same again tonight. My leg is healing nicely, I stitched it myself. I have done this before and I keep a very respectful medical kit stocked at all times. On a side note you should all keep a stock of antibiotics on hand. A tip: fish antibiotics that you order online are exactly the same as the stuff you get from the doctor. Made in the same facilities and they come in properly dosed capsules. Well gotta run......
