The reason why I agreed regarding the lost ways is because of leftist and neoliberal doctrines running the government and how it conditioned the previous two generations so badly that they believe that the NHS and the welfare state are necessary.
Poor neighborhoods and lousy constructions, as well as bad installations are all around the globe.
But it is true that several social issues you have in your country is due to people that migrated there with lack of values and hightened entitlement.
You can keep talking crap all you want about bad things you see in other latin american countries. But you know shit about them.
Regarding Costa Rica, your characterization of it's population is also incorrect, indians. Indian reservations do have their limitations, as the ones in the states.
But you can go all around the GAM and see very safe and stable neighborhoods.
Additionally, most of the population is mixed, with spanish heritage. Not indian, hence you keep trying to justify the shit that happens in your country not because of the individuals that went there but link it to some sort of cultural bs that is not the norm.

I also used to watch a lot of those series you recount. They were pretty cool.
I hear you regarding the province you used to live in. I don't go to Limon if I can avoid it. Personally I like the pacific beaches more but, yeah the fishes here are big if you know where and when to go fish them.

It has it's ups and downs. But it was definitely easier back in the 80s.
Yeah there are quite a few areas that are very poor. Specially in the surrounding provinces of the GAM.
In a couple of weeks I am moving my family to our home in the Heredian mountains, a bit far from town centers but not too far away so we can visit them. Just waiting for the inside of the house to be finished.
I am a fan of Robotech myself, Gundam Wing and many of the same kind of series. I couldn't stand for Mazinger Z though...

Shitty showers and installations are found al around the world lol. Generalizing that because of that is dumb lol.
