think of it in terms of warfare. access to the people, instant credibility, etc. heck they even get a home base out of the deal. why wouldnt they infiltrate our local houses of worship. its a no brainer. religion, government, infrastructure, supply chain. if i was directing an invasion force and i was an asshole, you bet i'd infiltrate the churches (and a few other institutions) first.
