I'm an alcoholic I guess. I simply cannot drink without setting off a binge that usually ends either sick at home or in hospital with dt's. I'm 16 months sober. My health is amazing. My sobriety journey has been mostly awesome with lots of support. But lately... I've been having some cravings. I don't want to drink. I simply cannot drink successfully. I sure could use some words of encouragement and/or wisdom from my friends at voat. Thank you niggerfaggots!

In my 20s I was an amateur boxer. Was trained by a former army boxing champion and he had me do really basic drills like the balance beam and ring movement for the first 6 months without even hitting the bag. That's just what they did back in those days, build a technical boxer before you get to punch. It was kind of frustrating but honestly was very useful because I didn't trip over myself awkwardly like a lot of other heavyweights at the time did.

Anyhow being a tall athletic muscular heavyweight who could move well, I could not find sparring partners where I was living. Everyone in that area who boxed were Italian or Hispanic so they were all 5'10 and under. Heavyweights who were at my beginning level were all shorter fat guys who lived to eat. They refused to spar.

That being said my coach did finally find a few people who were game. Only problem is, they were all professional fighters. One guy for example was literally a UFC heavyweight fighter known for knockout power and another guy was a regional contender who competed across several states in boxing.

Needless to say while I never got knocked out or seriously fucked up, they kicked my ass. I hated sparring the first 6 sessions. Was basically learning how to block and take a hit. They couldn't get me to quit with head strikes so they learned to go to the body.

Eventually though, I learned it's a simple matter to counter guys who get excited and start winging punches. The jab keeps them from coming in. Started putting them on the ropes by slipping and throwing a straight right with my better reach.

The skills I learned eventually got me to the golden gloves championship which I won by decision. Not an impressive title in my state by any means but it was a good accomplishment.

Decided not to pursue boxing professionally because I saw how the gym owners son who was a former pro was kinda permanently punch drunk from his time as a contender.

Still it was a great lesson in persistence and those lessons of taking a beating and learning from it stuck with me and helped me later in life.

Some White dude hired me to do a dumbass retard job. He didn't have money and his dad paid for it, I felt bad and gave him a substantial discount. He's about 35 with no skills and a DUI and sits around playing everquest like a faggot. He's vaxed but knows about niggers and jews. I felt bad for him, so I helped him with a few personal things, told him to come over and did a free maintenance on his car and made him watch and do it with me so now he knows how. Set him up with a drain valve for his oil so he could do oil changes on his own without tools (top mount filter). Dumb faggot quit his job at grocery store and I found him another job but he's doing doordash because he "gets to be his own boss".

Some months passed since I met this dude and I don't want anything from him just trying to help out a White dude hoping he gets on his feet. This retard texts me that he undid everything I had set up on the job and now nothing works. That I should come fix it for free "considering my dad gave you a lot of money and your screwing me". And that I should fix his car too, for free: rear & front diff drain/fill service, fuel pump/filter, and who knows what the fuck else this dude did not follow any maintenance schedule.

What the fuck guys I tried to help did a nice thing and this is the fucking thanks I get.
