The sun rises over the mist covered landscape.
The soft grey light of morning is also a lovely salmon pink.
The world slowly wakens from its slumber as I sip my coffee.

Slow down, smell the flowers. Recharge your batteries. Sunday morning relaxed inspiration for living in a world gone mad.

Rules:
The sub is open between 4am and noon your local time. I currently have no way to enforce this so, honor system. You're a caucasian aren't you?

That's it really. But please don't post fucked up stuff I need to delete. I know you get the vibe of the sub. Im a very lazy man as a rule, and it's Sunday. Please don't make me work.

This was written by a big ol' lefty commie named Utah Phillips, more frequently remembered by his telling the "moose turd pie" joke played on the Dr. Demento Show for many years. You can find recordings on jewtube of him performing the song, but I think Ian Tyson's version is beautiful and I prefer it.

I saw Utah Phillips perform live in -- where else? -- Santa Cruz, California about two decades ago. He was a good songwriter and a great storyteller, but a huge commie. He advocated for the Wobblies (IWW) and "direct action", i.e., the sort of tactics described by Saul Alinsky in "Rules for Radicals". Utah did a lot of other music, but I won't listen to it because I have a hard time separating the art from the artist.

I was going to post this, but I remembered Paul Neri posting this in r/music. I've never heard the choral version before, and I like it, so I'm cross posting Paul's link because I think it's very appropriate here.

This album is unjustly overlooked and is now largely forgotten. One of the first "concept albums", nearly every track qualifies as "easy like Sunday morning". Brilliant, beautiful, a real work of art.

E: I just realized I've been spelling this album's name wrong for 50 years. "Passed", not "Past".
