happened about 5 hours ago and my brain's a mess. Started over me "using up his" chop saw blade. This is a chop-saw that his dad bought/owns, in the dad's shop that's about 200 feet from my house. The dad (my father-in-law) has Specifically given me permission to use anything in the shop and I'm that kinda guy who tries hard to leave things better than I found them. The chop save blade? I used it to make about 6 cuts on some 16ga 1" square tube.
Anyway, he tried to bait me verbally (pussy, grow some balls, be a man, etc...) that just earned him a smile. When that didn't work he charged me with a threat to kick my ass which is where I lost my cool and baited him verbally. That earned me a "come near me and I'll kill you" before running to mommies (down the driveway past the shop, we live on family land with several homes ~ his isn't one of them). And yes, he IS a mommas boy, that's the First place he goes anytime some treds on his delicate little feelings.
I'm pissed I didn't start up a video or audio recording just so I had the Option of a restraining order. Not much you can do with a "he said, she said" situation. He's too stupid to heed one anyway and I can absolutely see it setting him off where he just starts damaging property willy nilly.
This guy's been violent in nature for a long time, he's even physically threatened his mom before... but he's the baby, and she enables the ever living Fuck out of that boy. He's yelled at my wife, his dad and his other brother all within the last year... and everyone has just let it happen, tried to avoid him and carry on with life.
Tonight gets to be different. His parents are still "siding" with him (they provide shop space, utilities, materials and time for his business of painting cars), with the claim of "what are we supposed to do". My wife snapped... she's the oldest, has long gotten the shit end of the stick but felt responsible for helping her folks as they aged. Took no time at all for her to tell them we were leaving. Their 2 sons... well one you Know is a taker and will vanish when there's nothing left to take, the other is sorta middle ground, takes some but mostly just doesn't give back anything. Neither are going to help their parents, at all, in any way....
Fucking blowing up our lives. We had just gotten back from the lawyers office the day fucking before to get our names on the deed for the house we're in and 2 acres. Have already spent $40k (10 weeks ago) to buy a steel garage/shop building ~ and we're now leaving. Not just "moving round the corner" leaving either, still trying to digest this, but it's Strongly looking like we're going to move 2100 miles to try and set up life near My folks. We simply don't have the money in todays market to buy something, and my folks have an unused 1br/1ba house (and could really use some assistance too, they're nearly 80, living in the boonies of middle Montana).
No matter what happens, we're out a bunch of money and effort over this. My parents (well, dad mostly) aren't exactly glowing examples of paternal goodness and our relationship has been strained since they cut me off when I was 20. I don't disagree with cutting me off, it was the method... they completely failed to prepare me for anything outside of school, and I hated college. So I got to experience being homeless in Montana in the winter, among lots of other really fun life lessons over the next several years. And dad is just a dick who likes to antagonize people... he's even done it to my wife And her folks, think that was the same night but it could have been back to back nights.
There's just no good answer. All because one entitled mama's boy lost his shit over a $30 abrasive cut-off wheel, of which I used less than 1/10th and offered him $5 for. Amazing what little things can cause absolutely huge events. Wife's done with her family, abandoning jobs, breaking bank to move, forfeiting property. At least the wife was on the fence about leaving her job anyway...
And the kicker? The family property was because her mom BEGGED us to stay, tears and all, when we told her we were under contract for a 10 acre place that had a house, shop and cabin (about 14 months ago and 30 miles away) that would have 100% kept this situation from happening.
Just needed to fucking rant. I really want to just beautify the planet and put this joker in the ground, but that's not smart and I'm old enough to know better now. Hell, I knew enough not to take his bait when he charged me, which is not something I would have done even just a few years ago. There is no positive side to his life. He kids are traumatized by the constant fighting in the house (straight from the 12y/os mouth) and completely ignored by their parents. He does shit work as a painter, and he's a vaxtard who pushed it on his kids too. The shit thing is that he was a decent kid (10 years younger than my wife, I met him when I was 26 and he was ~12, which was Several decades ago now)... just too many handouts and bailouts from mommy and daddy IMHO, they went the polar opposite from MY folks.
