Bird-brain makes coffee in a two-cup pot. I regularly come inside and there's a half a pot of cold coffee sitting on the table. She says she leaves it for me. I say that if I'm outside fighting bushfires or filling sandbags I won't know she's made a pot of coffee so she should make just half a pot for her. No change in behaviour so I now need to find a one cup coffee pot.
