Eisenhower's Rhine Meadows Death Camps.

Sounds like the General was aware of the outrages being perpetrated against German POW's under the tutelage of Dwight D. Eisenhower, that he was not too happy about it and had gone public with his disapproval, so it could have been that and the "Semitic" line which did him in.
