I have seen both. Hell I have seen them all. The Hutchinson effect accounts for metal sheering and disintegration. The pictures of warped metal, rather metal unraveling at its ends does not look like nano-thermite. Further more there would need to be enough thermite to turn the buildings to dust to account for the nearly nonexistent seismic register of the two towers (WTC7 being practically nothing) and account for the fact that people engulfed in the dust cloud were not burned. So if there was enough thermite to "dustify" those buildings, the dust would have been hot enough to scorch people; it wasn't. Further more; the clean up crew wouldn't use explosives as they were concerned it would breach the levy around the site... Finally; not sure what "former CIA officer" you are talking about; I think you should watch the video I linked as it appears you have not.
