I like Paul Thomas Anderson's movies, but I won't watch his latest one "Licorice Pizza" because it stars an ugly jew as one of the leads

You can judge for your self.

I like his movies, to a point. I think he's an exceptional film maker, but he has a tendency to be rather vulgar at times and seems to find some fascination with deviance. That kind of takes me out of it when I'm watching.

But I won't watch "Licorice Pizza" because the lead is some ugly jewess named Alana Haim. It's a shame, too, because I grew up in Southern California in the 1970s, so it was a very formative time for me. I even remember when the record chain "Licorice Pizza" was in business (which is where the movie gets its title from).

So, I'll pass on this one.

It does, doesn't it. But that's not what it comes from. From Urban Dictionary:

The name of a record store chain that was founded in California. It gets its name from an old Abbott and Costello routine where they try to sell records unsuccessfully (saying "Well we could sprinkle cornstarch on the bottom and sell them as Licorice Pizzas"). Apparently it was awesome in the seventies, but was bought out by Musicland and renamed Sam Goody in the eighties.

I also remember the Sam Goody stores, and they sucked.
