tales from a flooded Australia

submitted by paul_neri to Australia 3.1 yearsApr 8, 2022 22:15:15 ago (+12/-2)     (Australia)

Torrential rain overnight. Many thanks to the messages of support from bros:

@JudyStroyer
@AyranPrime
@Jewfed9000
@Ragnar
@AOUsYamaka
@v0atmage

along the lines of: "hope ya drown". But they was just foolin'.

Cellar flooded but this time I hooked up my "gravity pump" which Goat @observation1 suggested I do. Essentially it's just a long hose running down the slope of the backyard into the Bayou and kickstarted by the electric pump to get the suction going. So now...instead of having to sit in the cellar monitoring the electric pump I'm free to do things knowing the gravity pump is quietly draining the cellar. All thanks to crowdsourcing know-how. You might say common sense but I didn't think the suction would be powerful enough to bring the water over the steps in the cellar but it is!

I know you found that interesting.

You where right about everything but the soft drink cans. I prefer my sugars fermented.
