I've really only used eBay about four or five times to sell stuff, so take my advice for what you're paying for it. If your customers can buy the same items off of Amazon, your competing with Amazon's rules (free shipping, one day shipping, free returns etc...) Maybe you're selling the wrong items? If you can't buy these items from Amazon or another online retailer, you get to set the tone and rules of the transaction. The few times I used ebay to sell, I sold off some printer ink that you could no longer buy from a retailer, for a printer that was no longer produced. People where happy to buy it, They paid for shipping and didn't return it because they couldn't buy it anywhere else. There's just no way you can compete with Amazon or Wayfair, don't bother trying.
Keep trying different things, and if all else fails, rich people are scared of leaves. they will pay you to come to their house, collect them, and take them away.
