The hell with Los Angeles. They're by the coast, and while it's hot, it's nothing compared to inland. 60-100 miles east of LA is the Inland Empire, where it's been 112 degrees F for the last several days and should be for several more. People there aren't used to it, unlike the states from Arizona to Texas, who expect it as just another year.
