You be the judge - did I do my civic duty when this woman asked for directions?

I was weeding on the nature strip. A late model SUV pulled up behind me and I heard a woman's voice: "excuse me". I downed tools and turned around. The woman driver spoke to me through the wound-down passenger window: " do you know where # Drive is?".

I said I think it's over the hill, and pointed. She said: "no, I've been there and was told it runs off #street (the street we were in). I said I don't know where it is and her best bet is to ask someone else. But she wouldn't go.

Seemed she wanted me to "own" her problem. She proceeded to tell me of all the dead-end streets she'd turned up. I politely muttered the name of #Drive again and looked puzzled hoping she'd get the hint and go but she just looked at me - waiting for me to take charge of the situation, as men should, and wave my magic wand and fix the problem.

Now...if she'd had an idea of what she expected me to do and told me it wouldn't have been quite as irritating e.g. "do you have a road map" [I don't]. "Is there someone you could ask? [yes, the missus but I was happy weeding]. It was the "do something" attitude that annoyed me.The only thing I could have done is washed my hands, gone inside and turned on the PC and checked Google Maps but I thought that was asking too much.

So I suggested again she asked someone else and she seemed to get offended and snapped: "sorry for bothering you" and sped off. When I ask directions from someone, if they don't know I thank them and move on but then...I'm not an entitled female.

Edit: I know what you're thinking. That there's another explanation for her not buzzing off and it was that she, like you, enjoyed talking to me? Possible, I guess.

Whenever I am in public and I hear: "Can you help me with xyz"
It is always a woman, who is attractive enough to not get told no by simps.

I tell them no and walk away.
It's a shit road to walk, but lowering yourself doesn't make it any better.
9 out of 10 it's the ole 'need gas money for crack' routine anyway.
nip that shit in the bud

If a female I know, asked me for something, it will likely get done.
This white knight has retired his rescuing boots.

If someone asks for directions I do try to be helpful, its a polite request, though yours turned rather unpolite (she does seem a tad cunty by your description)

The way a bastard is made is exactly as stated in the video teaser frame:
"Stop being a nice guy or you will regret it"

A bastard is just a nice guy who has completed the course.
