Back in 1992 I applied for the NC Highway Patrol after 13 years in the US Army Special Forces. At the interview, the NCHP captain told me that, just between us, he would love to hire me, that I was just the kinda guy they were looking for and in years past he would have.
"But I'm going to be honest with you. I can't hire you until I've hired at least four black females first."
And that was back in 1992. It's only gotten worse since then.
