For those of you who hate me, which is everyone, now is the time to gloat on Voat! I am suffering lower-back pain.

As you know, I'm not the type to talk about myself. I'm stoic and suffer in silence but bloody hell...back pain can be excruciating. Those electric spasms that shoot through your body. I've been meaning to ask my doctor for the most powerful pain-killers known to man but as she's a woman the bitch would probably tell me to man-up and take an aspro.

Edit: and to compound my misery... a tick has bitten me on the rim of my arm pit (they seek out soft skin). I've had the hair-dryer on it two times which helps a lot and will shortly give it another burst. These are not big ticks. They are microscopic (black dots) but boy do they pack a punch!

Back spasms are not a joke. On my bad days, the back spasms will keep me from getting out of bed or, as cliche as it sounds, "takes my breath away".

Muscle relaxers will help. The subsequent few days after starting will likely be awful from pain, but the spasms will slow. After about a week things should be normal.

Muscle relaxers are an easier form of pain management most medical professionals are more willing to dispense over anything considered a normal "pain medication".
