So, they were lying about having a warrant. I had friend fall for that trick. He had been drinking at home when the cops arrived at his door. They said they just wanted to ask him a few questions. They asked if he could step outside to talk. He was drunk and fell for it. As soon as he stepped outside they jumped him and arrested him for being drunk in public.
