Posting anon is one thing, you may not like it but some people/bots/agents/faggots whatever you want to call them pay more attention to the poster rather than the content and then the conversation will take a different route than intended.
When it comes to the commenters they feel more relaxed and might write more in detail about something. Or be more inclined to contribute an answer. I don't understand why it's a thing but it is. Why knock it?
