Pick one, you can't have both. If it's improbable, then how improbable it is, is up for debate. I don't think it's as "highly improbable" as you.
It wasn't just a website, it was a community.
Yes, and it still is. Much, if not most, of the community still exists on various, annoying, retarded chat groups across the internet. In fact, having to spread out to several chats may have actually grown the community, as there appears to have been crossover between old Voat communities and new chat communities. I've personally met many new, very retarded...we need a term for them...New Tards seems good for now. If, theroettically we conjured up a new Voat with the same spirit as Old Voat, it might even have a bigger community.
The chances of all those people coming back and trusting the name Voat again is highly improbable
So you're tellin' me there's a chance...
But here's the thing about that...it doesn't require literally all the same people, and, if it did (which it doesn't), it wouldn't require all of them there all at once just to start it up.
The point being, you can't wait for perfect circumstances to start something. At some point, you just have to do it. I firmly believe that Old Voat's existence sort of primed the internet for our eventual diaspora, and said diaspora primed the internet for the return of Voat, New Voat. The time is now.
