Using a 1990's aircraft - sure not inherently unsafe however commercial airliner technology has improved massively since then (even from the 1990 date of manufacture to 2010 crash date).
Look, im not entirely disagreeing but obviously the older an aircraft (and it's airframe is) the more effort required in maintenance and inspections. On top of not having the latest modern radar/ weather tech and inbuilt flight safety parameter features etc. Other than pilot error what are you suggesting was the 'primary cause for the airflight crash'?
