my 14 y.o. son has asthma, and for the past 4 yrs or so hasn't really needed that much medication. He would take Symbicort only as necessary, like one or two times a month. Just within the past month or two, his asthma has really gotten a lot worse. He has been taking the Symbicort once a day, and even then needs to use the albuterol inhaler two or three times a day. Doctor is useless, and wants to put him on more, stronger medication (like steroids and other stuff I don't even know what it is). Anyone here have any experience with other options? What possibilities are there other than going down the pharma rabbit-hole? Many thanks!
I grew up very asthmatic and my mother is still very asthmatic. Now I'm a two pack a day pallmall red smoker but I breath clear and easy. She takes the poison meds. My advice is, when he has an asthma attack scratch his back until it's red and inflamed. Honestly it's far better than the meds.
