Exactly. Flat earth was the quintessential crazy person conspiracy; there was no way a lie this big could be kept, or so I thought. And this was even knowing about the secretive nature of the Manhattan project for example. I just couldn't believe it was possible. I didn't want to believe it was possible b/c of the implications. It has fundamentally changed my life.
