Question for the Aussies...

submitted by iSnark to Australia 5 monthsNov 26, 2024 03:00:09 ago (+9/-0)     (Australia)

Has Australia become less "Australian" over the last thirty years or so? I know that we share a common language, but it seems like when I was young, about a hundred years ago, there was more "Uniqueness" to Australia and Australians.

Being on this site, and engaging so many from down-under, makes me think that there is something to my theory... If I brought a friend to this site, and had them login, and spend a few weeks on this site, and then, I asked them to pick out the members that live in Australia, I don't think they could. Where maybe 40 years ago, the difference would have been much more noticeable. Is this true, and do we lay this change at the feet of technological innovation making the World smaller? I'm interested in some thoughts from the Aussies here...

Those days are gone. From Billy Hughes to Albo...

I am not joking when I say this country has become worse under that pipsqueak's govt. And it was already bad under Morrison.
