that was literally hell in the summer months without A/C. i think they had a generator but it was futile to run it since there was no roof or walls to keep the cool air in. lucky for them they got help from fema and the red cross and other relatives that lived up north.
our building in northern miami dade was intact but we were without power for like 3-4 days. they had to repair or replace the transformers that blew up during the passing of the cyclone.
btw, i think that there were thousands of deaths that went under reported in the media. we saw lots of military trucks heading towards homestead. probly you were in some of those. also it was the first major hurricane to strike the area in 30 years. so yeah many mexicans and niggers ended up in the gulf of mexico. at the time they reported like 50 deaths, my ass!
