Ok. I should have been more clear. You're right. I don't know what the shoreline was 35,000 years ago. I just assumed it was similar to what it is now.
But my point is still correct. The last time the earth had no polar ice caps because they all melted was during the Eocene period 33 million years ago. We know the sea level rise from that time from sediments. So if the polar ice caps melted again we can expect to reach the same sea levels which means Florida is gone.
I already told you I'm not an expert on this subject. You're asking me questions I don't know and then acting like that negates everything else I said.
If we keep burning fossil fuels at this rate the polar ice caps will melt. I'm not saying it as if we have a choice. I don't think it can be stopped. The oil companies and business interests are too powerful to allow any intereference in their operations. And it may take a century to 80 years to occur. But that doesn't mean it's not coming. Basically if you live at sea level elevation on the coast, you are FUCKED. Not that it would affect you in Nebraska.
