Heard about it tonight, fat fucker I never really cared for. I used to work with him, and we were scheduled to go out of town and vend at a small festival. We were supposed to meet up to organize the day before and fucker showed up unapologetically 3 hours late, so I told him he needed to get his shit together. This doughy, chinless fuck raised his voice, put his finger in my face, and shouted at me that I needed to respect him. I squared up an bowed up, told that fuck that he needed to earn my respect. This was in a crowded bar, full of his buddies and regular customers. I was ready to throw down, even though he had at least 50lbs on me. I ended up just laughing in his face and walking away. Did the project by myself, but while I was out of town doing that he checked in to rehab for heroin. So yeah, no surprise tonight when I learned he's worm food. Fuckin degenerates, man. He did other questionable shit outside being a junkie. Like I said, I never liked the fuck. Oh well, sucks to be you Justin. Should have payed closer attention in rehab. At least he finally took some weight off.
The homeless come in all kinds. Lots of mentally ill. I've been told up to 40%. But I suspect much of that is just mistaken drug addiction. The stereotype is basically three sorts or a combo - criminals that can't get a job or housing, drug addicts, or crazy. Some are just old a/o disabled and can't work.
Even the worst of them are better than the housed though usually. The housed work more, and thus prop up the system, pay more taxes, and thus prop up the system, and are less likely to be on relief, so don't bleed the system as much. Transients also leave less of a carbon footprint so are doing less to destroy the environment.
