You remember we discussed this last week and I told you that replacing the valve core and replenishing the sealant didn't cure the problem...well yesterday the tyre almost didn't get me into town and back so I got the bike out today and put some soapy water on the valve core end - no bubbles. Checked for punctures as evidenced by hissing/sealant escaping - nothing. Then checked the valve seat by putting soapy water on it and...bingo! Big bubbles. So I did what you said namely unscrewing the valve a bit and pushing it up into the tyre to separate the internal tyre-strip (we are talking tubeless) from the tyre and letting the sealant get to the valve base and forming a seal and, dude, it seems to be working. No bubbles. Going into town soon so I'll see how it goes. As you know, dangus, I'm no bike tech-head but your advice saved me some dough as I would have needed to go to the bike shop! Thanks, dude, appreciate it.
Hey Paul, Thank you for including me on this. The Presta Valve is new to me, and it's going to take a while to really get to know it's strengths, flaws, and work-arounds. I appreciate the tip on checking the valve-seat.
