Exactly. Same here. When I was a kid growing up in Ohio I was forced to do charity work at the local urban center in a negro neighborhood. That translated to swimming lessons since I was the only one who could. Long story short they didn't take to the local population, but I sure did save a lot of confident dark folks from drowning. Never once did anyone say thanks. Saving a nigger life translated to then as being an uppity white person.
