In fact, the Joseph story probably isn't much older than the Babylonian occupation and the Babylon story got morphed into the Joseph story. And the Joseph story is what got written down when the rabbis finally started writing/organizing the Bible about 600 BC.
There's no way any accurate information about the supposed Joseph story survived 1,000+ years of oral tradition.
