I am seriously tempted to get a battery powered zore-turn riding mower, primarily because it's less noisy, and secondarily because it would be one less engine to maintain.

I've been using a quality gas powered zero-turn mower for several years, which works great, but it keeps waking up the baby, which is not good.

Anyone here have experience with these new-fangled electric mowers? I'm skeptical of their "range" claims/estimates.

Get a gas-powered push mower, get your exercise in, and STFU.

You can easily maintain, sources parts, and repair a gas-powered mower. Compare that to trying to fix an electric mower, or even source replacement parts for it.

With an electric mower you are most likely going to be forced to purchase an entirely new unit.
