I don’t wish suffering on any family, but I’ll make an exception for this one.

As the last line in the article states- I wonder if the public would’ve been informed if he was still in office.

The important thing is that prostate cancer is famously slow-moving and stage 4 means it is very advanced. There is no way that a guy who was POTUS just four months ago would have this without it being noticed by doctors. Probably several years ago.
