The problem is the antibiotic has to actually get into the area where the bacteria are colonizing. That's easier to do internally than it is on what is basically an external surface that's inside your body which is your sinuses. They'd have to do an amoxicillin spray or something and she'd have to inhale it through her nose and it would have to cut through all the snot and everything else to actually touch the bacteria.
