yeah I had a pit as well. the perfect dog. He was fantastic with kids and when my mom got attacked, he completely went after the guy, full pitbull mode. He died last year and I miss him so badly. He would get bit on the face by other dogs, but he was so big and loved to play, that he just took at as rough housing and continued to dominate them by jumping on their back.
