i came to be a christian by first examining the principles of christ. what it was he taught. what he was about. for the sake of argument lets say christ was like buddha. a wholly mortal man who taught and lived a philosophy that that enabled one to live peacefully among your neighbors. if all of ones neighbors had the same philosophy, they would become an in-group. a semi-communistic society of barter would arise between them. nobody would let anyone else starve. in this community 100% of ones productive time could be spent in productive labor, with no parasitical drains on the local economy. people prospered under christianity. their children began to survive into adulthood. and then several decades of this peace and prosperity happened. foreign wars sprang up, but johnny not coming home was just bad news in an otherwise great weekend. christians got lazy. and people became discontent out of sheer boredom. and they want to seek further heights of laziness by allowing in the walmarts, the disneys, and the chinese and their machine citys?
