I also bought an "open comb" which works wonderfully on longer hair if you often don't bother to shave for a week.

Anything from yogurt to pizza is actually very easy to make and takes only a few simple ingredients. It's only hard at first, and it gets easy quickly.
An easy rule to start off with is "Don't buy anything with a picture of food on it". Sounds silly, but it's 100% a great and simple way to start. If it comes in a box or bag and there is a picture of food on it, do not buy it. Think about it.
And buy whole food. Whole apples, a whole side of beef, whole chickens, etc. Cut it up yourself.
One thing people forget is there are a lot of things companies do not legally need to list as ingredients. For instance, all machinery requires lubrication. This machine oil will contaminate the food processed on it/in it/etc. It will not be listed as an ingredient, but it will be in your food.
Even some whole foods get contaminated in this way. Like almost all fruit and vegetables are being sprayed with a plastic-based coating. Meats are all being brined and bleached. So start buying direct from farms and farmers and neighbors.
