Hi Mods,
We’re enabling the Harassment Filter, Ban Evasion Filter, Modmail Harassment Filter, and Reputation Filter, set to the lowest level, in your community soon. These are being enabled as a precautionary measure in case you encounter problems in the future. After they are enabled, if you’d like to adjust the settings or turn them off completely, visit the Safety section of your community’s mod tools.
Background
Over the past year we’ve been developing a suite of safety tools. You may remember some them from our r/modnews posts including the: Modmail harassment filter, Ban evasion filter, Harassment filter, and Reputation filter.
How these filters work
When turned on, these settings filters posts and/or comments that our systems have identified as likely to be authored by likely ban evaders, inauthentic users or as harassing content. The above four tools are the quickest way to help stabilize moderation in your community if you are seeing increased unwanted activity that violates your community rules or the Content Policy.
Setting will be set to low
All the referenced filters will be turned on and set to the lowest level. After they are enabled, if you’d like to adjust the settings or turn them off completely, visit the Safety section of your community’s mod tools.
In the past 30 days our collective suite of tools have filtered around 3 million posts and comments across thousands of communities, and historically they have had lower mod reversal rates than Automod, If you have feedback on the tool or questions, check out the safety help center article or contact us.
