Police have made eight arrests following a demonstration by farmers outside the home of nature minister Christianne van der Wal. A group of farmers gathered outside the minister’s house in Hardewijk last Tuesday despite pleas by politicians on all sides not to call on politicians at home. Demonstrators broke threw a police cordon, attacked a police van with sledgehammers and steel piles and emptied a slurry tank across the road.
