Except the act absolutely does NOT outlaw it at all. It very specifically says "indistinguishable from depictions of real children". That cannot possibly be interpreted in any other way.

Of course the feds routinely ignore the law, so you could get arrested for it even if it's 100% legal, but the feds violating the law isn't anything new.

However, we are talking about CP here, not government overreach. Anyone engaging with CP in any manner should face the full wrath of the law and the legal system in my opinion.
