Those comments are simultaneously funny and sad, because Redditors get reminded of te side effects they had from the first shots they got.

My cousins daughter, who is a medical lab scientist, had Guillen Barr syndrome after getting a flu shot a few years ago. She was paralyzed from the neck down. It took her almost 2 years to recover. And she still has problems. Her physicians told to never, under any circumstances, get a flu shot again. She now has been told that if she does not get the covid shot at Cleveland Clinic, where she works, that she will be fired on Dec 6th. Her primary physician would not sign off for her. ( kickbacks?) What would you do? After the hell she went through, there is no way she will jeopardize her health again. She's a single mother of 2 and also is a part time instructor at a local college.

Those people are the ones with medical exemptions.

Flu and Covid shots are also not equivalent.

She can get the COVID vaxx while avoiding the flu vaxx. Pretty simple. Get the mRNA COVID vaxx and she will likely be fine. If they suspect she won't be fine, she can easily get a note from her doctor in this instance because she has a history of GBS. That will likely not be the case, though, because like I said the COVID and flu shots are not equivalent.

Your cousin's daughter should therefore get the COVID vaxx and keep her job. Have her ask her doctor for more information if she is afraid. They could not fire her if she had a legitimate medical exemption. Nice appeal to emotions at the end there though.
