The reason you don't see many new products in the US is due to cost and compliance

Bringing in any new product line, even established ones is horribly expensive in the US. Other countries, it can be done for a few grand, but the cost instantly jumps by a factor of 10 when the US is involved. This doesn't even get into the state side legalese bullshit of having to deal with 50 state regulatory departments, 1 huge federal government, conflicting rules, insane permit fees for procuring the right to even attempt to start a business. And 50 years ago, people could just open a shop and be good, now opening the shop is a multi 10,000$ ordeal.

Cars got fucked by CAFE, drinks got fucked over by USDA and bullshit approval nonsense, there's an M&A every other day because no one is making enough money (contrary to popular retards, an M&A is BAD for the consumer), the existing players are going into severe debt keeping afloat, everything is closing left and right. I can't count the amount of for lease, for sale signs everywhere, as everything crumbles into dust.
