Look at the contrast between the boomer generations and millennials/gen z. I know it will be called a contemptible conspiracy theory, but I can't help but think this was utterly contrived. And the reasoning is simple. You run up the tab to buy a couple of consecutive generations and give them everything so you can destroy the ones that follow. You can't destroy any generation without creating a discontinuity in the prior one, and they did that by basically purchasing the boomers with economic incentives and then taking the floor out from everyone later...the entitlement programs that continue for the boomers just secure the perceptual divide and the different orientations both groups have to the government (one of total dependence and security, the other of antagonism).
