Drywall thickness alone will not cause that large of a discrepancy, less than a 1/2" slope over 8 feet doesn't cause that. Besides, the drywall 'sag' or 'wave' isn't even across the entire panel, it's only in spots. The entire wall is more or less square to within 1/8".
I measured the walls of homes when I measured, and I did it at several places. They are NEVER that off. Ever. Period.
You're simply mistaken as to how much error that can cause.
The fact you could 'cut into drywall' and fix it proves me correct in that matter.
They are sold in 8 or 10 foot sections.
Exactly. It's likely her cabinets are greater than 8 feet so she purchased the larger ones and cut them.
