Yep. All of my dogs were strays we picked up. One of them had obviously been very abused.... Broken teeth, starving, etc. It took me a long time to get him over his ptsd. But when we first met, he approached me and happily rolled on his back... He knew I was there to help him. Dogs know.

I would have taken the dog home, made him a nice dinner, and set him up with a warm, soft bed next to mine. Maybe name him something like Bundy.
